SATSUKI SHIBUYA // POKETO

On September 8, 2013, I will be attending one of Poketo's workshops, Branding 101 with Satsuki Shibuya. Satsuki Shibuya is a "multidisciplinary creative who finds herself in ever evolving projects ranging from creating one of kind art / objects, singing / songwriting to creative / life consulting.(Poketo)  I started following her less than a year ago and have been an avid follower ever since. I truly admire her courage to let her thoughts transpires into words of wisdom. Satsuki's writing always resonate with me. Here is one of her entries via Curiosities and the Unknown:

POLARITIES

our external world exists with polarities — life/death, start/finish, good/bad, etc., but that in itself is just a perception.

unfortunately, because we attach ourselves to these polarities, especially the things we identify as “good”, it causes us suffering as we are unable to accept the changes happening around us, even though it is part of the nature of life.

if we examine closer, we’ll see that what we view as “bad” is the beginning of something good, just like in the saying, “when one door closes, another opens.”

we are so hardwired to believe that we must keep pushing ourselves to produce, to be somewhere, to do something constantly and consistently, which causes stress not only physically, but as an entire being. if we were to understand the cycle of life and that there will be moments of growth, stagnation, rest, rebirth, we’ll be able to embrace and flow with what comes before us, effortlessly and be at peace within.

I think she said it best and as always, ever so eloquently.

Not only am I anxious to meet Satsuki in the flesh, but to take home new knowledge. I hope to brainstorm with other creative individuals through this workshop and further expand my work, meanwhile staying keen to my inner self. It's time to activate my curiousity + creativity.
